Why have 100 eyes looking for security holes when you can have 10000?

By borfast

I just thought of something interesting:
Microsoft Windows is the most popular desktop operating system today. Microsoft and its lovers usually tend to hold to this fact and say that it is because of this popularity that so many security holes are found, as an argument to prove that Windows is not less secure than other operating systems.

Not caring for if that is true or not and also not caring for the fact that Windows' design is inherently flawed, they do have one thing right: more security holes are found because there are lots of people using Windows and looking at (examining) it. So without wanting to, Microsoft and its lovers admit that the open source software development method is indeed more effective in finding security holes and other bugs in software.

Thanks, guys. I knew some day you'd see the light! :)
