Over 2 million Firefox 2 downloads in first 24 hours

Firefox developer Mike Beltzner blogs about the success of Firefox 2’s launch, which had over 2 million downloads in the first 24 hours of Tuesday’s release and a peak download rate of more than 30 downloads per second. That’s some serious bandwidth. Beltzner also looks back on Firefox’s success and discusses why the browser has been so popular.
